Post Operative Rehabilitation

Basham Physiotherapy works closely with local Nowra based and metropolitan based orthopaedic surgeons to provide post-operative physio. We work with patients in preparation for surgery and during their post-operative rehabilitation. We frequently provide rehabilitation services for people who have undergone any form of surgery, including but not limited to joint replacements, ligament reconstruction, tendon repairs and surgery of the bone. We guide our patients through their surgeon’s individual post-operative protocol, assist with pain management and provide exercise programs to promote strength, range of motion and return to function as early as possible.

Our physiotherapists tailor make each rehabilitation program for your individual goals and will guide you through your acute post-operative management through to advanced rehabilitation programs with a focus on return to activity or sport.

Neurological Rehabilitation

Our physiotherapists provide physio management to people following injury to the brain, spinal cord or peripheral nerves. We use physiotherapy goal based therapy to provide support and work toward achieving each individual patient’s needs. We can assist in your recovery with physiotherapy intervention including facilitation of movement, motor relearning, improving mobility, strengthening, balance retraining, management of spasticity and exercise programs. We can aid you in sourcing equipment and support you in the training and education of family and carers.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

We provide NDIS physiotherapy and allied health assistant services for patients who are self funded or plan managed through NDIS.
